Getting Here
The Alhambra Shopping Centre is in the heart of Barnsley Town Centre, and is just a short walk from Barnsley interchange.
By car:
Sat Nav users please use S70 1SF which will take you to the entrance of our multi storey car park, on Lambra Road.
From the M1 Junction 37, follow the signs for Barnsley Town Centre. At Townend roundabout, take the fourth exit continuing the A628 (Westway). At the next roundabout, bear left onto Wesley Street (Alhambra Shopping Centre is now on your left) and our car park entrance is left at the bottom on, Lambra road.
From the M1 Junction 36, follow the A61 for approximately 3.5 miles. At the Alhambra roundabout take the second exit onto Wesley Street, our car park entrance is left at the bottom on, Lambra Road.
By bus or train:
The Barnsley transport interchange is only five minutes’ walk to the Centre with buses and trains regularly operating in and out of Barnsley interchange throughout the week. For help with journey planning, please contact Travel South Yorkshire;

Parking Information
Our car park is certified by the Safer Parking Scheme so, you can be sure that your vehicle is left in safe hands while you enjoy your shopping trip. The multi-story car park has 482 parking spaces with dedicated parking bays for disabled parking and Parent & Baby parking on levels 2a, 3a and Gallery level.
The main entrance to our car park is via Lambra Road off the Alhambra roundabout. Sat Nav users please enter S70 1SF or use What 3 Words reference ///deflection.future.steps to access the car park entrance.
Maximum vehicle height for the Car Park is 1.98m.

Customer Services
The Customer Service desk is located on the upper level outside The Entertainer Toy Shop at the top of the single escalator.
Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will assist with any enquiry you may have, from store locations, centre events to lost property and local information.

Lost Property
If you’ve lost a personal item whilst in centre or you’ve found something during your visit, please visit the Customer Service team who will be happy to help reunite you with your lost belongings. All items handed in are logged and retained for one month.

InPost Lockers
We’ve partnered with InPost to bring parcel lockers to Alhambra Shopping Centre to make online shopping and sending parcels super easy. The lockers are located on level 3A lobby of the car park. Find out more

Cash machines can be found next to Vodafone at the bottom of the main staircase and NM Money at the main Cheapside entrance.
Wi-Fi
All our customers can enjoy fast and reliable internet access wherever you are within the Centre.

Family Friendly Services
We have dedicated parent & child parking bays which are wider, making it easier to get in and out of the car with prams and pushchairs. You can find them on level 2a and gallery level of our multi-storey car park.
Parent and child room
For some privacy during your shopping trip, we have a parent and child room, next to the toilet facilities on the upper level. It’s a good spot to breastfeed and do a quick nappy change in a safe and clean environment. We are proud to be part of the breast-feeding friendly scheme.
Eating
Most cafés and restaurants offer highchairs and bottle warming service.
Child Safe Scheme
Alhambra Shopping Centre is a dedicated to being a child-safe area and staff are trained to deal with lost children. However, losing a child, even for a few moments can be very distressing and our Child Safe Scheme can help reassure and get help fast. The scheme ensures that should your youngster wander off or become lost are easily and quickly reunited with their parent or guardian. Upon your arrival to the Centre, visit our customer service desk and pick up a free wrist band, put your contact details on the band and fix it to your child’s wrist.
Customer Toilets
Our washroom facilities can be found on the upper level of the centre near the main entrance to the car park.
Disabled toilet can also be found here which is part of the national RADAR scheme. Keys are available from the Customer Service Desk on the upper level outside The Entertainer Toy Shop.
We also have a Parent & Baby room which offers baby changing facilities, a kiddie’s toilet and breast-feeding cubicle. We are proud to be part of the breast-feeding friendly scheme.
Our toilets will close at 5.30pm Monday – Saturday and 4.00pm Sunday for a daily deep clean of the facilities.
Accessibility
We hope that your visit to Alhambra Shopping Centre is a pleasant experience but recognise that for some guests with disabilities, it can be daunting and can often cause anxiety and frustration in a busy destination such as ours. We are here to help!

Customer lifts can be found within the car park on every level, gaining access to shopping via level 3a. Lifts are also available at the main Cheapside entrance and in the main atrium providing access to all shopping levels. All our lifts are wheelchair friendly and have low level buttons and ramps for easy access.

You’ll find our toilet facilities located on the upper level close to the main car park entrance. They include changing facilities for families and adapted facilities for disabled users. See Customer Toilets for further information

Several of our key staff are trained in Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) so if you are struggling while in the centre or see another member of the public in distress please contact a member of staff.
Security
We operate a 24-hour CCTV system and have a dedicated, friendly, and helpful security team so please feel free to approach a member of staff for help. Our team patrol the Shopping Centre and car parks on a regular basis. They ensure the safety and well-being of both our shoppers and our retailers. Their responsibility is to maintain a welcoming, peaceful, and safe environment in and around the centre. Any unusual or undesirable activities should immediately be brought to their attention. They can be reached by telephone on 01226 295355.
First Aid
All Alhambra Centre Security Officers are First Aid trained and available to assist in all incidents. If you experience a problem whilst in the centre, report it to a member of staff (identifiable in their Q3 Services uniform) as soon as possible and first aid will come to you. You have the right to refuse first aid and any further medical assistance.

This Policy applies to personal data collected by CCTV and or Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS) at The Alhambra Shopping Centre.
This information forms part of our privacy policy.
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Body Worn Cameras & Electronic Access Control Systems are in operation at The Alhambra Shopping Centre.
Where these systems are able to process Data which by itself or with other Data available to us can be used to identify you, this is known as Personal Data.
This data protection policy sets out how we use that personal data.
We take the security of your personal data very seriously and take a stringent approach to data protection including its secure storage and taking the appropriate technical, physical and organisational steps to protect it. We regularly evaluate whether it is necessary and proportionate to use a CCTV system for which we are responsible as Data Controllers. We have conducted a privacy impact assessment and an annual audit is undertaken to ensure that correct legal procedures are followed.
We have also had a Lawful Purpose Assessment conducted and documented and then this is reviewed annually.
Prior to disclosing any CCTV footage, we seek the advice of a specialist data protection advisory service Datpro to protect your personal data from inappropriate or wrongful disclosure.
Your data will not be processed or stored outside of the European Economic Area (EEA)
The types of personal data we collect and use
CCTV and Body Worn Cameras; the lawful basis for processing personal data by the use of these systems are: For the legitimate interest of The Alhambra Shopping Centre as the Data Controller or that of other persons or organisations.
We will use the data obtained from CCTV images for the purposes set out below
For the purposes of,
- Good property management.
- Maintaining the security of the premises and the prevention and investigation of crime.
- To monitor goods and services.
- For health and safety.
- For Protecting the rights, property and for the personal safety of the occupiers of the buildings, including the staff and the tenants, visitors to the buildings including, the tenant’s staff, visitors to the building or premises including members of the public and those of The Alhambra Shopping Centre.
- When you exercise your rights under data protection law and make requests.
- Based on your consent. When you request us to disclose your personal data to other people or organisations such as a company handling a claim on your behalf, or otherwise agreed to disclosures:
- For the security and wellbeing of equipment and vehicles
Retention Period
CCTV recorded images
Recorded images will be kept for a limited period only usually a maximum of 30 days and are then erased.
The exception being where images are required for evidential purposes or another legally valid reason including responses to your legal rights (subject rights).
The Data will be collected directly during any visits you make to The Alhambra Shopping Centre.

The Access Control System may record the days / times that you enter and leave the premises.

You will have the right to question why the data is required and to object to anything that you do not want to be processed.
Where you give your consent to your personal data being processed you will have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
Retention Periods
Your data will only be kept within the access control system for the duration of time during which you asked to use the system in order to gain entry and to leave the premises where it is installed.
Following which your Data will be deleted from the system, for example when and if you are no longer employed in the building or are not intending to re-visit the building again.
