One Great Day raising money for two children’s charities
Our annual charity golf day had to take a break last year but came back for 2021 with overwhelming support from Alhambra contractors, suppliers and local businesses raising over £5,000. To date, Alhambra Shopping Centre’s Golf Day hosted at Sandhill Golf Club has raised over £26,000 for children’s charities.
One Great Day started in 2014 and being involved from the start Alhambra Shopping Centre has held many events during this time; the annual golf day, sky diving, It’s a knock out team, family fun days, virtual cycle rides and silent auctions raising more than £34,000 to date.
The aim of One Great Day is to raise as much money as possible for two very special children’s charities: Our local charity of 2021, The Children’s Hospital Charity, who are raising funds to build an amazing new Cancer Ward for patients, their families & staff. The charity aim to create a new home from home for them, with space, privacy and natural light to make isolation a place of sanctuary and calm. The second charity is the well-known Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) which is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare. GOSH is supported as our national charity across the full portfolio of One Great Day.
We wanted to reach out with a special thank you to each and every person involved in making our One Great Golf Day 2021 such a success, after a tough 18 months for most, we were overwhelmed by the support and response to our golf day, with 12 teams taking part.

Sadly there were no winners of the Hole in One Prizes this year but some players were very close to winning £10,000 cash!
